Stad & shopping

Eersel doesn’t offer an extensive, yet a very cosy shopping area. There are a couple of special shops and several supermarkets, such as Plus (Nieuwstraat, Jumbo (Willibrordusstraat) and Lidl (across the parking lot, near the Plus). Supermarkets are open from 8.00 am – 8.00 pm , on Sundays from 10.00 am – 06.00 pm.

Eindhoven is THE shopping centre for the southern part of the Netherlands. It offers a wide variety of shops varying from large department stores (Bijenkorf/Primark) to specialist shops. Interesting villages such as Valkenswaard, Oirschot and Hilvarenbeek are easily accessible (30 minutes). Tilburg also has a cosy shopping centre, just like Oisterwijk. We further recommend Hertogenbosch and Hasselt (in Belgium).

We strongly recommend the former factory site of Philips in district Strijp in Eindhoven, amongst others with furniture factory/home store Piet Hein Eek, (inclusive of brasserie). The fresh market Strijp S and the Feel Good Market are very trendy.

People who love modern art should definitely visit the Van Abbemuseum in the centre of Eindhoven and museum De Pont in Tilburg. The Textile Museum is defenitely worth a visit as well. In the region you will find various smaller museums such as the Vincentre in Nuenen about Vincent van Gogh, the Bakery Museum in Luyksgestel and the Kempenmuseum De Acht Zaligheden in Eersel.
